No. 13: Chris Colfer
Birthdate: May 27, 1990 (age 20)
Why He’s Hot: He portrays underdog diva Kurt Hummel on Fox’s “Glee,” but make no mistake — Colvis, California’s Chris Colfer is a bona fide champ in every way. Colfer’s flaming falsetto helped inspire 12 million people to tune in to the season 2 premiere of “Glee” in September, and “Defying Gravity,” his duet with Lea Michele (Rachel) remains the second most downloaded song from the show’s catalog. With new Gleeks being born every day, we’re confident Kurt’s coming out party is just getting started.
‘Glee’ star Chris Colfer claims he was very similar to Kurt Hummel, his character in the show, when he was growing up.
Chris Colfer was a “living, breathing Gleek” while at high school.
The 20-year-old actor – who plays flamboyant Kurt Hummel in hit TV series ‘Glee’ – admits he was very similar to his on screen alter-ego when he was growing up.
He explained: “I didn’t have too many friends and was made fun of and teased every day. I was a legit, 100 per cent, all original Glee club kid. “We had a choir at school and I was involved in that. And drama – I loved performing arts. I was a living, breathing Gleek.”
The star also revealed his character – who struggled to be accepted by his family and classmates for his sexuality in the first series of the musical show – will find love in the upcoming second season, which looks set to be just as action-packed as the first.
He explained: “Kurt is getting a boyfriend. Britney Spears will make an appearance, and I’ve also heard rumours of Jennifer Lopez and even Susan Boyle starring in it! I’m a big fan of SuBo so I’d love that.
“I also want Julie Andrews to play my grandmother. I want that badly.”
