I’ve added two MQ photos from the second stop on the Glee Live tour. Did anyone go? How was it?

I’ve also replaced all the photos from yesterday with HQ versions.

  1. i totally went to the san jose shows (yes, both of them). glee blew the roof off of the shark tank! chris was fabulous as always, although i will say that his singing voice sounded different than what it is on the show and albums. it wasn’t bad or anything–just noticeable. it was like somebody pumped up the treble on his voice.

kurt had lead vocals in ‘i want to hold your hand’ (solo actually), ‘born this way’ (with tina and mercedes), ‘happy days/come on, get happy’ (with rachel), and ‘single ladies’. but hands down, the best part of the show came after ‘river deep, mountain high.

kurt, brittany, and blaine performed a skit that introduced the next song, ‘don’t rain on my parade’. brittany starts off the skit by telling the audience about how she embarrassed herself on last year’s tour by telling kurt she loved him. obviously rejected, she tells the audience that this year she’s going to focus her affection on someone else: blaine. blaine joins brittany on stage and the two banter back and forth a bit until she asks him if he wants to make out with her. blaine responds with (to a rousing cheer from the audience), “uh, brittany, you do know that i’m taken, right?” (kurt appears on the left side of the stage). brittany starts to reply when kurt suddenly booms (in a clipped voice), “brittany! are you FLIRTING WITH MY MAN?” this drove the audience into all sorts of fits of wild hysteria!

as brittany retreats from the stage, kurt hops, skips, and jumps his way over to blaine. and then it came: a down-on-one-knee proposal! more fits of wild hysteria erupt from the audience. down on one knee, kurt asks, “blaine warbler…will you…(kurt then rolls over onto his back and kicks his leg up over his head) join new directions?” blaine says yes and that he wants to do something that the warblers would never let him do: a broadway musical number. kurt responds that no, those are his…and those that are not his, belong to rachel. at this point, the music to ‘don’t rain on my parade’ begins and rachel announces, “i’ll take it from here, kurt!” and she begins to sing.

my other favorite part of the concert was that the warblers made an appearance. there were about 10 or so of them plus blaine and they performed a brief three-song set list: teenage dream, silly love songs, and raise your glass. i actually recognized warbler jeff (riker lynch), warbler nick (curt mega), and warbler “beatbox” (jon hall). i love acapella music and the warblers–their performance was out of sight! other fun things during the show included: a fireworks show, slushie-ing, and barf bags.

this show is quite an experience! if y’all ever get the chance to see it, DO IT, DO IT, DO IT! here’s the set list from the san jose shows:

MAIN SHOW (in order of appearance): don’t stop believin’, the dog days are over, sing, (i’m a) slave 4 u, fat-bottomed girls, i want to hold your hand, ain’t no way, pyt–pretty young thing, born this way, firework, teenage dream, silly love songs, raise your glass, happy days/come on get happy, lucky, river deep/mountain high, don’t rain on my parade, jessie’s girl, valerie, loser like me.
ENCORE (in order of appearance): single ladies, friday, safety dance, empire state of mind (i think–i never saw audition so i don’t know what the song sounds like), somebody to love.

  2. I saw the show in Toronto and they did the same skit except “Jessie’s Girl” followed it. It was probably the highlight of the show!
