The trailer for Chris’s upcoming movie has been released! I’m so excited, the trailer alone is hilarious!

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – The kids of William McKinley High will pay tribute to the late King of Pop on this week’s “Glee,” but for Chris Colfer (who plays Kurt Hummel on the hit show), performing MJ’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” was a bit rough.

“I was in a leather one-suit – like, a leather jumpsuit,” Chris told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday. “The dance was fine, but just the fact that I was in a leather onesie was a little traumatic!”

Chris said the embarrassing get-up was reminiscent of a Bond bad guy, combined with a certain feline femme fatale.

“Very Catwoman-ish, [but] I would say more James Bond villain than Catwoman,” he told Shaun. “I wish it was Catwoman flattering! But no, it was James Bond villain.”

While the entire “Glee” cast enjoyed performing MJ’s iconic songs, Chris said Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) was, by far, the most thrilled.

“Kevin McHale, without question,” Chris said, when asked which castmember was most excited about the episode. “He’s been idolizing him since he was a wee, wee lad.”

Chris Colfer is turning into a mini movie mogul.

The Glee star tells me that his film debut, Struck by Lightning, which he wrote and is starring in, will probably hit theaters in the fall.

But even before then, cameras will begin rolling on his second flick…

He’s being tight-lipped on details, but he did reveal he wrote the script for this one, too. “I actually had to do research on this one,” Colfer told me at the Golden Globes. “I couldn’t just pull it out of my ass. I had to do a lot of research.”

He said he already has a director and producers “attached.” Unlike his starring role in Struck by Lightning, he’ll appear in the new movie as a “supporting character.”

“I’m a very vain writer,” he cracked. “I write for myself.”

Shooting is expected to begin this summer.

Stuck by Lightning revolves around a high schooler who gets hit by lightning after blackmailing classmates to contribute to his literary magazine. The dramedy costars Christina Hendricks, Sarah Hyland, Dermot Mulroney and Allison Janney.

And speaking of Janney, she tells me she’s itching to return to television. “I’m a worker bee. I like to work,” Janney, who won four Emmys for her work on The West Wing, told me at the Critics’ Choice Awards.”Right now, there are three or four things circling my orbit.”

Curious as to what exactly that means for Kurt and Blaine’s future? First off, what was your reaction to the news that your character will not be getting a spin-off but rather return to the series in some magical way that creator Ryan Murphy won’t let us know about?
Well I’m really excited about. I of course can’t explain it right now but I think everyone is going to be really happy about it. With alluding to anything, not doing the spinoff anymore is kind of going to be the best of both worlds.

What affect, if any, do you think Kurt graduating is going to have on his relationship with Blaine?
I really don’t know. I think that they’re going to maybe separate eventually. But I mean I say that and I get a lump in my throat because I think people are going to kill me for even mentioning that. But I don’t know. I’m anxious to see how that works too. Realistically these character would be together for a good amount of time and then separate, that’s just how life is, but we’ll see, I don’t know.

In terms of Kurt’s final semester, what can you tease about his journey?
Well I was talking to Ryan [Murphy] and I think they’re going to have something pretty epic planned for him. He actually pulled me aside on set two days ago and was like we’re planning on doing something pretty great with Kurt and kind of filled me in and I’m really really excited about it. I think it’s going to turn out pretty great.

Does that “something pretty epic” refer to more of a school thing for Kurt or is it one more personal in nature?
I think it’s going to be epic in general. For him as a character, but probably more so for the character and less about school.

And finally, having parlayed your role on GLEE into a slew of different projects including movies and books would a small part of you been okay with Ryan Murphy simply decided to have your character graduate, and in doing so free you up to focus on your ever-expanding empire?
No because it’s been so much of my life I almost don’t know how my life would be without it. That crew is really like our second family. I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t get to see the hair and make up people everyday and the sound people and the wardrobe people. I feel like I get my best ideas for other things when I’m on set so I wouldn’t want to leave.

Chris Colfer’s future on Glee was called into question this morning when Fox’s President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly announced at TCA that while the much rumored spinoff was dead in the water, Lea Michele would be back for season four as creator Ryan Murphy had come up with a “cool” way to keep the graduating seniors around.

When asked later whether Chris was also part of that plan, Reilly reportedly “hedged” before saying that hadn’t been decided yet.

But after chatting with Murphy after the panel, Chris Colfer revealed to TheInsider.com that he would 100 percent be back in the fall! In addition to getting his take on this inventive way to keep the graduates around, Chris teased some very intriguing 2012 events when I caught up with him at Fox’s All Star TCA party tonight.

Insider.com: It’s been revealed that Lea Michele will be back next year — will you?
Chris Colfer: Yes. I’m coming back. I’m very excited. A lot of people are sad there won’t be a spinoff but I think they’re going to be very very excited to find out what’s in store – I’m very excited by it. Ryan’s idea is kind of revolutionary. It’s the best of both worlds. Everyone is going to like it.

Insider: Presumably whether or not Kurt and Rachel get into NYADA will factor in, right?
Chris: I think so. I’m not positive. I’m looking forward to seeing if he gets in – knock on wood. It’ll be an interesting episode to watch him and Rachel perform with the other finalists.

Insider: But before we get to either of those things, we have this week’s episode — called Yes/No – which features New Directions recreating Summer Nights from Grease. Which side does Kurt sing on?
Chris: [laughs] He was with the girls — by my request. Originally he was with the boys but I called Ryan and said, “What do the boys have that Kurt wants?!?” There’s no way he’d be hanging with them. He’d be gabbing with the girls over sandwiches and mac & cheese. He completely agreed and I was put with the girls, which is great because I get to be Rizzo!

Insider: Kurt may be with the girls, but Blaine is with the boys. What do you make of the fact the writers have made him “one of the boys?”
Chris: I think they both just gravitate towards people they identify with. Blaine is gay but he’s more of a guy than Kurt, who is a little more grand than that. I say Kurt is more grandeur than guy [laughs]. But I’m glad our show really shows that it takes all kind of gays to make the world go ’round: good gays, bad gays, manly gays, less than manly gays. There are all kinds of gays.

Insider: The gang is headed for Regionals, and then presumably, Nationals. Do you want Kurt to finally get that win in his senior year?
Chris: Yes. Selfishly, for the character, I do. As an actor, I hope they win Nationals so they can go to London or something for Globals, or whatever comes next. That would be awesome – singing and dancing in the streets of Rome! Who wouldn’t want that?

Insider: Looking ahead to the other 2012 episodes, what are you excited for fans to see?
Chris: I’m really excited for them to see the Michael Jackson episode – I wear a shocking onesie leather jumpsuit. I’m interested to see what the reaction is to that.

Insider: Compare the onesie to the Gaga lobster heels — which were easier to wear?
Chris: Oh god, the heels were so much more comfortable! I never thought I would say this, but the 10 inch heels I wore in that episode were much more comfortable than the leather jumpsuit.

Insider: Not to get too personal, but how tight are we talking? Did you need to douse yourself in baby powder to get into it?
Chris: There was no room for personal, if you catch my drift [laughs]. But there was baby powder. And I have to say, when you’re singing and dancing all day in a leather onesie, it starts to smell. I don’t have B.O. typically but I actually put a car air freshener inside the jumpsuit and it stained my skin. I had a little yellow Christmas tree on my stomach for a good week! Just in time for the holidays [laughs].
